Piano Concerto
for Solo Piano and Full Orchestra (or a second piano)
Growing up with piano lessons, I always enjoyed the concertos of Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Liszt, and Scriabin, among other greats. Eventually, at the end of 2012 I set out to compose my own concerto. Completed in 2013, the one movement work has clear inspiration from these composers, complete with an extensive cadenza.
I was pleased to premiere this work on the Rollins College Spring Orchestra Concert in April 2014, appearing as the soloist for the piece.
